Dethrone the Stomach god
Consider this:
Food is a powerful force. What, when and how much we eat can be a deadly and spiritual decision.
• The first instruction from God was about food. Genesis 2:15-20
• The first temptation was about food. Genesis 3
• The first sin was about food. Genesis 3
• The first murder was over a food. Genesis 4
• The first temptation of Jesus Christ was food. Luke 4
Thots…
• Intentionally dethroning the stomach god the process is brutal….Gotta kill that false stomach god, before he gets too big….How do I keep him off the throne? The cross is the key. (Steve Murrell)
• The Abdomen: The temple of the god Stomach, in whose worship, with sacrificial rights, all true men engage. (Ambrose Bierce)
• Food and appetite (desires) – what we do with both is kind of important.
• For 5’11” My Ideal Weight is 183 and I haven’t seen that in I can’t tell you how long! They give you a 20% range but I think I am way past that too!
• At my age staying in shape harder and getting into shape takes longer however, getting out of shape is faster and easier
Scripture Encouragement…

• Everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry Philippians 4:11-13
