Glow Worm

Today I got to eat lunch with my daughter Tayler at one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. Woo hoo on both accounts. Anyways… My fortune cookie said “if we are all worms, try to be a glow worm”

The old gospel hymn At The Cross, in the first verse, (old version) says; “Alas! and did my Savior bleed and did my Sovereign die? Would He devote that sacred head for such a worm as I?” (2 other cool songs about the glow worm are posted at the bottom)

The Glow worm is the common name for various different groups of insect larvae which glow through bioluminescence. They may sometimes resemble worms, but all are insects. Most glow a yellow-green color however the railroad glow worms have an additional red light at their head (how cool is that) and the fly larvae produces a blue-green color. The purpose of the glow varies. For some it is for attraction and for others it is a warning signal to predators. (info from wikipedia)

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16

So if we are worms... be a glow worm... be attractive... juicy and sticky... blow the whistle on the train...sing... and shine your light!
