Gotta Pee

Ever been so excited that you have to pee. I have especially noticed it before a big speech or a big race. It is talked about in nervous conversation, many TV scenes, and usually good for…Long, real uncomfortable seemingly “will this ever end” moment
Embarrassment
A good laugh
Relief
Conversation

Medically – it is caused by nervousness – anxiety – internet search showed that… Anxiety means danger, and the body responds to that by stimulating the muscles in preparation for action to deal with the danger. This leads to contraction of all the muscles in the body. As the muscles contract then the urge to urinate grows. The more anxious you are, the more urgent the need to urinate becomes. Peeing is seems to be one of the hardest things to control because it is a natural bodily reaction. Once the urge hits you, then it’s nearly impossible to control.

People try to battle this symptom through:
Medication
Breathing exercises
Change of diet
Mental exercises
Going to the bathroom more frequently
Therapy groups
Depends
(didn’t see anyone on the internet mention… praying about it… to the One who created it)

Some feel the need to urinate at least 20 times a day. It can wreak havoc on their personal life as well as their work lives however there are a few benefits. It is a great excuse to get you out of a long sermon, graduation, or meeting. But here is a great use of it… (read this in my daily bible reading today and got me thinking...)

The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way!… What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way?... What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away? … Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob. He turned the rock into a pool of water; yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock. Psalm 114

Never really thought about the rest of creation in awe and nervous fear around Almighty Creator Father God, but makes real good sense. In the moment the river moved, bowed , and got out of the way, trying to do something… but the rock (inanimate object) could not move… oh - the trembling excitement and fear…hmmm…

…to stand in the presence of God…
… what the judgment will be like
… what heaven will be like…
… to see Jesus face to face…
… an imperishable eternal body…
… to get to approach Him, to speak to Him personally
… have an audience with the King
… to thank Him for salvation…
…that God would even choose…
...choose to be near me
… real close
...even have something to say to me
… desire to use me…
…that God would have something big for me to do
… right now
… now after thinking about it… gotta go…

True Pasture

Jeremiah 50:7 “the Lord their true pasture”
He is our food

He is all we need

He is the good stuff

He is nourishment

He is strength

He is health

He is the place to go

He is open place to stay to all

He is the best

He is home

He is ownership

He is real

He is lasting… everlasting

He satisfies

He is sight to behold

He more than gives and provides… He is… life

LAX

Came home from the jungles of Ecuador for the second time with about 2 weeks’ worth of traveler’s diarrhea – upset stomach, runs and squirts – from eating the unwashed food - drinking the unfiltered water – unclean utensils – unwashed hands - not getting the shots – not heeding the instructions and warnings of others – slow to learn - I was lax – I was my own laxative…

1.    Not sufficiently strict or severe

2.    Careless

3.    Relaxed (of the limbs or muscles)

4.    Pronounced with the vocal muscles relaxed (of a speech sound, esp. a vowel)

5.    Loose (of the bowels)

All these definitions apply to me physically and spiritually.   I need to be much more careful and not be lazy…

·         Rules - God’s and man’s laws, rules, and suggestions with time, work, service, loving others, availability

·         Spiritual Disciplines - waiting on the Lord It is too easy to be lax of the holy Careless use of Jesus’ name and character w/out the holiness and reverence due

·         Fitness- eating, weight

·         Speech - use of words that don’t follow with life style intentions, what I stand for and tolerance, expectations, words and encouragement

·         Clean - excellence and preparation

Catching up on daily Bible readings that I had become lax in… Today…I came across

Jeremiah 48:10 a curse on him who is lax in doing the Lord’s work!

Some more encouragement and warning from scripture…
Be clean hands…pure heart… Psalms 24:4
Be useful for noble purposes 2 Timothy 2:20
Be clean on the inside… Matthew 23:25-26
Don’t give what is holy to the dogs… Matthew 7:6
Don’t live like it is all meaningless, useless, worthless… Ecclesiastes
Don’t be noisy gong clanging cymbal… I Corinthians 13:1
Don’t  be luke warm… Revelation 3:16

If not careful I become a laxative to the gospel …a bunch a BS… loose runny smelly crap… wasting time, energy, $, endeavors, hurting the kingdom of God
